Call to Worship                              from Psalm 63

Leader: O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you.

People: So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and

glory.

Leader: Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.

People: So I will bless you as long as I live; I will lift up my hands and call on

your name.

*Hymn 261                 “God of Compassion, in Mercy Befriend Us”

Prayer of Confession – UNISON

Patient God, how trying we must be.  You have told us, you have shown us, you have come among us.  Still, we look away, ignoring, forgetting, rejecting your purpose for us.  Have mercy on us.  Forgive us for what we have done, and for what we have not done.  Tell us again. Show us again. Come among us again.  With grace anew, come among us again, so that we might start fresh, and receive the life you have given us in Jesus Christ.  Amen.
